Christiane was born in Germany. She obtained her M.Sc. in Biology at the University of Würzburg, majoring in Microbiology and Biochemistry. In 1990 she came to Switzerland to work as a research technician on infectious diseases at the Universtiy Hospital Zurich.

Christiane joined the IMCR in 2002. She works  in the groups of PD. Dr. S. Ferrari, PD. Dr. P. Janscak and Prof. Dr. A. Moor.
