I was born and raised in Switzerland. After completing an apprenticeship as an electroplater, my interest in science grew exponentially, motivating me to take the necessary steps to gain eligibility for studying at the University of Zurich. I earned my BSc degree in Biomedicine in 2024 and subsequently joined the Penengo Group at the IMCR to pursue my Master’s studies. My project focuses on an aspect of DNA damage signalling, specifically aiming to identify the protein kinase responsible for phosphorylating ubiquitin – a small molecule covalently attached to histone residues – which plays a pivotal role in directing DNA repair towards non-homologous end joining or homologous recombination. Whenever I need a break from science, I love spending my time doing and watching sports, as well as being in the company of family and friends.
