Born and raised in Germany, I obtained my bachelor’s degree at the University of Würzburg in the field of Virology. I continued with the master’s degree in Biochemistry at the same university but changed my focus of interest to the field of cancer biology, resulting in a master’s thesis on the role of cell cycle regulation. Following this interest, my way led me to Zurich, where I started in May 2023 as a PhD student in the Penengo lab. My project investigates the role of ISG15 in the viability of cancer cells.
